Itinerary
You will be picked up either from your hotel or Juanda International Airport in Surabaya. After a comfortable two-hour drive, we will arrive in the vibrant city of Malang. Here, you can stretch your legs and immerse yourself in the colorful charm of Jodipan Village, known for its brightly painted houses and lively atmosphere.
Our journey then continues to a village near Tumpak Sewu, where you can relax at your hotel. If time permits, we will also visit the Kapas Biru Waterfalls, offering an additional treat to your adventure.
Start early your day at 05.00 with our driver through small, charming villages. As you drive, you will have the chance to see the impressive lava flow from Mount Semeru, which is a truly amazing sight. After this exciting adventure
Next, get ready to explore the beautiful Tumpak Sewu Waterfall. The waterfalls are tall, and the area is surrounded by green plants, making it a great experience. You can take your time to admire the cascading waters and take some memorable photos.
After exploring Tumpak Sewu, you will continue your journey to a village near Mount Bromo. The drive will be scenic, allowing you to relax and take in the natural beauty of the surroundings. Once you arrive at the village, you can wander around and enjoy the atmosphere, find a perfect spot to watch the sunset near Mount Bromo. As the sun goes down, the sky will turn into beautiful shades of orange, pink, and purple, creating a spectacular view. It's a perfect way to end your exciting day.
At 03:00 your 4wd Jeep is ready to depart to Pananjakan. With its 2702 m it is among the highest viewpoints in the area. Weather conditions order the colors in the sky and dye the view at mount Bromo.
When the sun has risen, you will be heading by Jeep to the Sea of Sand. Cross the marvelous moonlike landscape. This grey-greyish landscape is 10 km in diameter. An impressive piece of art.
The Jeep will park near the Hindu Luhur Poten temple. Most often it is closed, but you can take a look while walking by. It is a 45 min walk one way to the top of the active volcano Bromo.
When you are set to go, you will meet your driver. He will bring you back to your hotel.
Have breakfast and enjoy a refreshing shower before checking out. Then you will be heading to Bondowoso (the closest city to Mt Ijen). Your hotel will be in Bondowoso.

From Bondowoso to Paltuding takes about 2 hours. Once in Paltuding it takes about 1,5 hours walking to the crater lake. You will meet the sulphur miners on your way to the top. They carry bamboo baskets on their shoulders that weigh up to 100 kg. Once at the top, feel inspired and explore. Walk your day.
Once back at the parking area don't forget to visit the sulphur weighing area just behind the parking. Sulphur miners weigh their loads, load it on a truck and get paid.
After a local snack and a welcoming cup of coffee or tea, you will be heading to Ketapang harbour. On route you can visit the Coffee plantation and waterfall in Licin village. Tour end in Ketapang ferry port to Bali.
