The drive to the Madakaripura waterfalls on route to Mount Bromo takes about 2 to 3 hours. These enchanting hidden waterfalls are a delight. A short ride by motorbike taxi, followed by an easy 30 min walk slowly gives away nature's beauty. Depending on the season the water flow is more or less. During the dry season, you could dip in the cold water.
Once back at your car, you continue to Cemara Lawang village. The bowl in which Bromo is the only active cone is a beautiful sight to witness the sunset.

The black ashen volcanic Sea of Sand and the sometimes bottle green savanna are surrounding the smoking crater of Mount Bromo, and Java's highest mountain erupting every 20 minutes in the far background. The caldera has a diameter of 10 km.
First, you will be heading to the viewpoint at Mount Pananjakan. Sunrises are different every single day. Weather conditions, season and temperatures determine the colors and views during sunrise.
Second, after this refreshing moment, you are heading into the sea of sand. You will have to cross this marvelous product of mother nature to get close to Mount Bromo.
Third, after your Jeep parked, then it is a 45 minutes walk to the top, the last part is an old stair built that has survived several eruptions. Take your time to explore...
Fourth is your breakfast as once back at the car you will return to Cemara Lawang village.
Have a refreshing shower before checking out. You will be dropped off in Surabaya.
