Itinerary: Batu village & Mt. Bromo - 3 days
Malang is the second largest city in East Java. It has a history dating back to the Singasari kingdoms. The city houses almost 1 million inhabitants and has many interesting cultural sights to offer.
Batu is a city located at 800 m asl in Malang regency. Batu is a fertile mountainous area surrounded by agricultural land. The town used to attract Dutch colonial officers in the Dutch colonial era. In the 19th century Batu was developed into a mountain resort. Various villas and resorts were built. Now it is a recreational city for locals, who mainly visit during the weekend and tourists from all over the world.
Mt. Bromo is one of Indonesia's iconic adventures that are worth the effort. Enjoy your tour.

Today you get to know both Malang & Batu city
Explore two of Java's historical cities
You will start with paying the worthwhile city of Malang a visit. Amongst others, you can visit kampong warna-warni (also called kampong Jodipan), the bird and flower market, Ijen boulevard, 2 town squares, a Chinese and an Arab area, and much more.
After searching the city for valuables, you will head to Batu where you will spend the night in éL Hotel Kartika Wijaya Batu.

Batu is a refreshment and has a lot to offer. The town lies at an altitude of 950 m. In the Dutch colonial period Batu was a spa with swimming pools and hot water springs.
On this route you will visit the Selecta swimming pool with water from a source, the sulphurous hot spring Songgoriti, apple orchards and Rondo waterfall.
Before dusk you leave for the village of Cemara Lawang. The drive takes about 3 to 4 hours, depending on traffic conditions.
Optional: the zoo JaTim Park II, Cangar hot spring, Predator Fun Park (fun for children up to 7 or 8 years), Eco Green Park (also for younger children)
Sunset over Mt. Bromo
Cemara Lawang village is interestingly situated at the edge of the ancient caldera in which one can find the active volcano Bromo. When time is sufficient, you can explore the traditional Hindu village while finding a superb spot to witness the sunset over Mt. Bromo. Village life at such an height - 2217 m - is interesting.
You will be spending the night in Cafe Lava Hostel, at the crater rim.

The sunrise tour starts at 03.00 in the morning. A local Jeep will bring you to the viewpoint at Mt. Pananjakan. If you wish to see the sunrise from a less famous viewpoint - and therefore less crowded - just inform us. We can also arrange a guide to hike to the unknown spots. Weather conditions define the views and the colors.
After the sun has risen, you can opt for a cup of coffee or tea before heading to Mt. Bromo. To get near this volcano you will have to cross the black sea of sand. Your driver will stop near the Hindu temple Luhur Poten. Then it is a 45 minutes walk to the top of this impressive crater. Take your time.
Once back at the Jeep, you will be brought back to Cemara Lawang. You can have breakfast before you check out. Then you head to the Madakaripura waterfalls. These enchanting waterfalls will brand some memories.
