Monthly allowances

It is very simple. We - Imam and Agus & Martine - have "enough" and would like to do something for those who definitely haven't. Can't be simpler.
Smartine Indonesia Travel donates a certain percentage of every tour and Imam searches monthly for sponsors.

 Mr. Choirul at his house

Mr. Handoko is affected by astma since his childhood. It is believed that it affected his mental state of mind and intelligence. As a result he can't live alone. He now lives with his younger brother Mr. Ilham Syamsu and his wife Mrs. Fauziah. They didn't get any kids.

Family takes care of Handoko - strong social system

Luckily there is a strong social system in this Kampong. Most often family members feel responsible for each other.
Syamsu offers room in his house to Handoko since 2010. Handoko used to live in Surabaya with his aunt, who was running a small local restaurant. He was doing the dishes. When is aunt grew too old, the restaurant got closed. Handoko returned to Malang as his aunt couldn't take care of him anymore after the closure of the restaurant.
The family lives in an inherited house, with a surface of 48 m2. There are 3 rooms, a bathroom and a kitchen.

Family income

To have something to do and to earn a small income, Handoko received a small starting capital from his brother to open a small kiosk  in front of his house at Jl. Suropati no. 15c. To sell newspapers and bottled fuel.
One day in January 2018. Handoko early morning used to buy his newspapers at the distributor. Half way he got hit by a motorbike. The driver ran off. Handoko was left with a mild concussion and a broken forearm. Until today he is recovering and isn't yet back in business.

Handoko's brother Syamsu is a honorer teacher at a private Islamic school. He teaches 3 days a week with a monthly wage of IDR 700,000. As a honerer teacher you don't get the minimal wage as determined by the government.
Syamsu's wife Mrs. Fauziah teaches in the local mosque, both children and housewives. That is - of course - without payment. Sometimes the more fortunate give her a donation after teaching. But that is an irregular and uncertain income.
Both Syamsu and Fauziah are graduates of an Islamic boarding school. Also known under the name pondok pesantren. A place for Islamic education.

Mr. Handoko entered the programme in April 2018.
